Guidance:
Attention seniors: Counselors are distributing PSAE results via senior English classes today and tomorrow. If you don’t have an English class this semester, you need to see Mrs. Noe ASAP.
Counselors are doing presentations in all senior English classes today with the exception of English Lit. Eng. Lit’s presentations will be tomorrow. Handouts including last spring’s PSAE results will be discussed.
Athletics:
Please excuse the Varsity Girls Tennis team at 2:55 today for a leave time of 3:10.
Congratulations to the Varsity tennis team on their 5-0 defeat of Rockford Jefferson. Great job ladies!
The Boys Golf team defeated Stillman Valley last night 177-202. Low scorer and medalist was Ryan Swanson with a 39.
General:
Any girl interested in trying out for the MCHS Pom Squad, please pick up a tryout packet in the Guidance office and attend the clinic on Wednesday, September 3rd. If you have a conflict or any questions, please see Mrs. Joyce or Ms. Griffin.
Freshmen class officer petitions will be accepted through tomorrow only. Please return all petitions to Mrs. Anderson or Ms Hoffmeister as soon as possible.
Sophomore class sponsors need to meet in 2508 tomorrow morning at 7:30. Please be there on time to discuss important matters for this year.
Do you enjoy helping others? Are you interested in healthcare? Do you like having fun? If you answered yes to any of these questions you should come check out HOSA. Health Occupations Students of America is community service organization on campus that is loads of fun and does great things to help people in our community. Join us Tuesday, September 2nd during the 2nd hour activity period in the auditorium to learn more. Sign up to attend this meeting in the nurse's office or in room 1104 by this Friday.
The Seniors Class Officers are as follows: President - Jake Darlingtion; Vice President - Scott Smith; Treasurer- Benjamin Bussert; and Secretary - Samantha Seemann.
Thank you to all students that attended our student council informational meeting. We are really excited to start planning homecoming. Students interested in being a part of our student council should make sure to drop off your signed expectation sheet with either Mrs. Zarnikow in room 2503 or with Mrs. Nichols in room 2209 by Friday. Those students interested in becoming officers should be sure to have the application in to Mrs. Zarnikow or Mrs. Nichols by tomorrow.
Flash drives are now available in the Media Center for $10 each.
Do you love to read, and enjoy discussing books? Sign up in the Media Center to join the Reading Club! Our first meeting will be during Tuesday's 2nd hr. Activity period on September 2nd, in the Media Center. Sign up by 3:15 on Friday to attend the meeting.
Membership sign-up for the Multicultural Club will be this Friday morning at 7:30 in Mrs. Sager’s room, 1105.
Picture Day is on Wednesday, Sept. 3rd. You should have received your picture envelope in the mail by now. If you did not receive an envelope at home, stop by student services sometime before Sept. 3rd to pick one up. All students will get their portrait taken during their English class.. Seniors will get ID photos only.
The suburban bound for the Rockford Rescue Mission will be leaving at 4:40 from the flagpole.
