AFS HOST FAMILIES NEEDED

Share your pancakes with a kid from Cairo! Find out whether kids from Thailand really ride elephants. Think you’d like a new brother or sister who can read and speak Japanese? Open your home, heart and life to a new adventure by hosting an AFS exchange student!

The Northern Illinois AFS volunteer team is now accepting applications from local families who would like to host an exchange student in the 2010-11 school year. You do not have to have a high school student to host. We welcome all sorts of families (empty nesters, single parent, etc.). AFS host families provide a bed, meals and share their everyday lives with exchange students who live with them during the school year from mid-August through end of June. In return, the families become part of an international organization dedicated to bringing cultural understanding to the world.

Students and families receive training and year round support from a strong local volunteer team of experienced host families. To find out more, please contact our local AFS Volunteer Coordinator, Tammy Isom email: a_busymom.com; phone: 815-943-4862 »
