We are excited to inform you about the accelerated learning opportunities available to students at Marengo Community High School. We believe that all students deserve the chance to reach their full potential, and we are committed to providing challenging and engaging educational experiences for every learner.

Our accelerated programs offer students the chance to:

Take advanced courses in a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies.
Learn at a faster pace and complete high school coursework early.
Prepare for college-level work and earn college credit while still in high school.
Develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

If the student exceeds State standards in English, math, or science on the ACT, MAP, or i-Ready assessments they will be automatically enrolled, the following school term, in the next most rigorous coursework offered by MCHS. Parents can opt out their student(s) from accelerated coursework.

A student who exceeds State standards in English language arts shall be automatically enrolled into the next most rigorous level of advanced coursework in English, social studies, humanities, or related subjects.
A student who exceeds State standards in mathematics shall be automatically enrolled into the next most rigorous level of advanced coursework in mathematics.
A student who exceeds State standards in science shall be automatically enrolled into the next most rigorous level of advanced coursework in science.

Students who qualify for an accelerated program should meet with their counselor to discuss their options and develop a personalized plan. We encourage all students to consider taking advantage of these opportunities to challenge themselves and achieve their goals.
